ECC Elgin Community College serves over 9,000 students across various educational levels, including university transfer programs, career and technical education, continuing education classes, and adult basic education. Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction aligned with the college’s strategic goals.
  • Evaluate students' progress to facilitate achievement of their educational goals.
  • Teach assigned classes and/or labs.
  • Prepare lessons and align them with contractual requirements.
  • Utilize learning outcomes assessment and measures to improve learning and instruction.
  • Prepare and maintain course syllabi.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.
  • Maintain office hours and respond to student inquiries.
  • Implement accommodations and accessible materials for students with disabilities.
  • Develop and revise curriculum, including textbooks and instructional materials.
  • Participate in departmental routines, such as scheduling classes and setting goals.
  • Assist in assessing student learning outcomes and new equipment/supplies.
  • Attend department, division, and college-wide meetings.

Requirements

  • A master's degree in the discipline or a related discipline with at least 18 graduate hours in the discipline.
  • Essential skills include delivering instruction, promoting culturally responsive practices, and evaluating student progress.

Qualifications

  • Desired knowledge and skills include conducting assigned classes, preparing lessons, and providing career and academic advice.

Skills

  • Ability to teach effectively and adapt to different learning styles.
  • Knowledge of relevant software and technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay

This is a Full-Time Faculty position. The salary offer will be based on education and experience, in alignment with the College’s compensation philosophy and the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), if applicable. Schedule

Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department.
