About the role
Adjunct teaching faculty provide instruction aligned with the college's strategic goals and evaluate students' progress to facilitate achievement of their educational goals.
Pay
Per Contact Hour 2026:
- Less than Master's = $1,098
- Master's or above = $1,140
Schedule
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Communication/Speech or in a related area with 18 graduate credits in Communication/Speech
Desired Qualifications
- Teaching experience in a Community College environment
Responsibilities
Deliver Instruction
- Conduct assigned classes and/or labs
- Prepare lessons
- Provide course syllabus (which shall include grading standards, attendance policies, classroom behavioral expectations, course outline and contact information)
- Verify student enrollment and submit grade sheets
Evaluate Student Progress
- Keep accurate record of student performance
- Provide students with timely feedback
Provide Student Assistance
- Refer students to student support services
- Accommodate special needs students
Other Duties
- Other duties as assigned that pertain to the job description
Physical Demands
- Sedentary (up to 10 lbs occasionally, sitting most of the time)
- Close visual acuity (e.g. computer, assembly)
Work Environment
- Moderate noise
- Typical office or administrative conditions
