Instructor, Nurse Aide (Caswell Campus) *$10,000 Sign-On Bonus*
About the role
This position prepares lectures, tests, syllabi, and teaches in the classroom, lab, and clinical rotations. Responsibilities include teaching Nursing Aide I, Nursing Aide II, Nursing Aide I Refresher, or Medication Aide/Tech classes as necessary. Ensures students receive proper instruction to successfully pass the State Nurse Aide I exam.
Responsibilities
- Maintain office hours to meet with students outside of class time to interact and assist students.
- Perform related administrative and record-keeping duties per the guidelines set forth by the NC Community College System, the Division of Health Service Regulation, and the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
- Maintain own Healthcare Provider-CPR status, immunization records, and RN status up to date at all times.
- Serve on various College committees and organizations and attend meetings as required.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Minimum Education and Experience: Associate degree in nursing required. Two years of R.N. experience supervising nurse aides is required. Must hold a current unrestricted license as an R.N. in North Carolina.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in nursing or related health field preferred. Teaching experience preferred. Certification as Medication Aide Instructor preferred. Long-term care facility experience preferred.

- Able to work independently with minimal supervision and willing to accept day and/or evening teaching assignments as needed by the college.

The pay for this position is commensurate with experience.
Schedule
The position is based on a 39 hour work week, for 12 months, and course scheduling may change from semester to semester.
