About the role
The Instructor Maintenance develops and delivers training to JetBlue Airways’ Technical Operations crewmembers and business partners focused on aircraft systems.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate classroom and on the job training (OJT)
- Aid in the revision of Technical Operations training program for JetBlue University, College of Technical Operations
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED Diploma
- Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant License
- Must acquire and maintain a valid SIDA Badge
- Five (5) years of diversified experience in aircraft maintenance
- Available for occasional overnight travel (40%)
- Valid travel documents with ability to travel internationally
- Ability to drive various maintenance vehicles
- Effective communication skills (oral and written)
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Valid Driver License meeting JetBlue’s insurance standards
- Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
- Eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Three (3) years of A320/E190 maintenance experience preferred
- Three (3) years of Instructor experience preferred
- Three (3) years of Leadership Experience preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent communicator and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and willingness to excel
- Ability to work in a team environment

- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Potential need to work flexible hours and respond on short notice
- Able to maintain a professional appearance
- Assist with light aircraft cleaning when needed
- Fit appropriately with JetBlue culture and values
- Adhere to safety standards and report concerns
- Support JetBlue’s safety management system and promote safety
Equipment
- Computer and office equipment
- Tools from the Minimum Tool List within 30 days of employment
- Operate lift trucks, snorkel lift, boom lift and tractor after training
- Reflective safety vest and ear protection issued
- Handheld two-way radios, headsets, and phones used
Work Environment
- Livestorage maintenance environment
- Traditional office environment
- Seasonal outdoor work
- Scheduled shifts by seniority (days, swings, or midnight shift, holidays)
- Ability to work in elevated areas
Physical Effort
- Extremely strenuous physical work involving objects up to 100 pounds (Very Heavy)
