Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare for and deliver instruction and perform teaching-related activities.
- Manage the classroom/laboratory.
- Develop curriculum and monitor and revise as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program evaluation.
- Manage equipment, supplies and materials.
- Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues.
- Collaborate with advisory committee in program area.
- Attend departmental and institutional meetings.
- Promote the education/training program, participate in efforts to recruit and retain students, and participate in efforts to market MATC.
- Support student organizations and activities.
- Develop relationships with business and industry.
- Complete program evaluation and follow-up.
- Maintain certification, continue professional development and stay current in field.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education Requirements:
- One (1) Of The Following:
- Bachelor's Degree in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, And Refrigeration, HVAC/R with three (3) years (6,000 hours) work experience in Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, and Heating.
- Associates' Degree (AAS/AA) in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology, HVAC/R, with four years (8,000 hours) work experience in Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, and Heating.
- Technical Diploma in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, And Refrigeration, HVAC/R with five (5) years (10,000 hours) work experience in Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, and Heating.
- Journeyman's Card with eight (8) years (16,000 Hours) work experience in Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, and Heating.
- Completed a registered apprenticeship as a Steamfitter or Refrigeration Service Technician with eight (8) years (16,000 hours) work experience in Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, and Heating.
- Certified Master HVACR Educator (CMHE) with five (5) years (10,000 hours) work experience in Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, and Heating.
- Occupational Experience:
- Minimum of two years full-time or equivalent (4,000 hours) of relevant work experience in Heating, Air Conditioning or Refrigeration Technology.
- In Addition, One Of The Following Must Be Met:
- At least two years of work experience must have occurred within the last five years.
- Two years of teaching HVAC/R course work at the post-secondary level within the last five years.
- Licensure:
- EPA Section 608 (40 CRF Part 82, Subpart F) Universal Technician Certification.
Essential Technology
- Email - Experience with an Email system (Gmail, Outlook).
- Telephone - Experience with a voice mail system.
- Computer - Experience with Microsoft Office Suite/Google.
Supplemental Information
- Start Date: Spring Semester.
- Hrs: Full-time (32 hours), serving multiple campuses.
- Work Hours: Scheduled course hours, Monday - Friday; varies based on departmental needs.
- Location: State of Wisconsin.
