About the role

The Department of Geography invites applications for a full-time, professional-track Instructor position beginning August 16, 2026. This is a 9-month, renewable appointment with a teaching load of eight courses per academic year (4-4 load).

Responsibilities

• Teach GEOG 105 – The Digital Earth and GEOG 263 – Introduction to GIS.
• Teach advanced courses in Spatial Programming, WebGIS, Geostatistics, GeoAI, or GeoIntelligence with interdisciplinary applications.
• Teach four courses per semester, including potential online instruction.
• Additional courses as agreed upon with the department chair.

Requirements

• PhD in Geography, GIScience, or a closely related field by August 16, 2026.
• Teaching experience in GIS, Remote Sensing, or Spatial Programming as instructor of record.
