Job Description
Module 4: Aquatics
Delivers swimming instruction to individuals and groups of all ages in a community center setting, emphasizing water safety, fundamental swim skills, and stroke development.
Designs engaging lessons that build confidence and encourage lifelong aquatic proficiency.
Maintains a safe learning environment by adhering to facility protocols and emergency procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma (or equivalent)
- Certifications/licenses, as applicable by discipline (Required CPR/first aid certifications)
- Minimum of two years of demonstrated experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Possess basic knowledge of fundamental subject area concepts, practices, and procedures with the ability to apply in varied situations as it pertains to the departmental focus.
- Possess excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Able to read, understand, and enforce safety procedures.
- Able to perform an aerobic activity for the duration of the class.
- Demonstrated basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Possess sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of the community.
Compensation
$30.00/hour
Set-Rate Non-Bargaining Part-Time Position
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
- The work may be performed in a normal, professional office environment.
- The work area is adequately lit, heated, and ventilated.
- Work may be partially performed in an environment with sufficient noise that may cause an employee to shout in order to be heard above the noise level.
- Work may be partially performed in and/or around a swimming pool requiring the employee to be a proficient swimmer.
