Instructor/Coach, Child Welfare Education Partnership

This role provides instructional leadership and workforce development support as part of the Child Welfare Education Partnership (CWEP), collaborating with the Division for Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) to deliver high-quality pre-service and in-service training, individualized coaching, and competency-building activities for DCYF staff and supervisors. The Instructor Coach strengthens child welfare practitioner learning and professional growth through relevant, rigorous, and practice-aligned training grounded in adult learning principles and aligned with DCYF’s strategic priorities.

Responsibilities

• Teach and deliver pre-service and ongoing educational opportunities for DCYF staff in online and blended formats.
• Provide consultation on curriculum development, program evaluation, reporting, and faculty recruitment and mentoring.
• Coordinate course material development with Curriculum Specialists and Instructional Designers.
• Maintain an up-to-date grade program and report grades to administrative support staff in a timely manner.
• Ensure evaluations are completed and collected at the end of every course; submit evaluation data promptly.
• Provide continuous feedback on training and participant needs to the Director and Assistant Director.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current on local, state, and national trends in child welfare and juvenile justice.
• Meet with District Office Supervisors periodically to identify training needs for their teams and share findings with CWEP and DCYF leadership.
• Coordinate ongoing training needs of pre-service participants and create individualized training programs to meet certification requirements.
• Meet with existing DCYF staff regularly to assess training needs and prepare individualized training plans.
• Collect District Office and individual staff training needs as part of the CWEP and DCYF training needs assessment process.
• Coordinate training schedules with the Pre-Service Training Coordinator and other CWEP staff.
• Participate in committees as assigned by DCYF and/or the College.
• Travel as needed to provide training and attend offsite meetings.
• Perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Human Services, Social Work, Juvenile Justice, or Education) and 3 years of experience.
• Proven record of teaching experience in all modalities (face-to-face, online, and blended) with a commitment to teaching excellence.
• Proficiency with current teaching technologies such as learning management systems and e-portfolios.

Qualifications

• Master's degree.
• Experience in Juvenile Justice or youth detention.

Pay

Pay range: $47,920.00 - $85,410.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience, and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
