About the role
As a Parenting Skill Instructor/Family Coach, you will teach parenting skills and appropriate decision-making techniques to individuals who are at risk of or have previously lost custody of their child. Depending on the family's needs, the services will be provided in a classroom setting and at home.
Responsibilities
- Teach parenting skills and decision-making techniques.
- Provide consistent guidance, direction, and support aligned with court-ordered case plans, program goals, and necessary lifestyle changes.
- Work with families in a classroom setting and at home.
- Receive training in First Aid and CPR from the agency.
- Drive within the communities served.
- Perform physical tasks including constant reaching, handling, fingering, and computer operation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Child Development, or 5 years of experience working with families and children.
- Certificate in First Aid and CPR.
- Valid driver's license and automotive insurance.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, sitting, and constant reaching, handling, fingering, and computer operation.
- Background and FBI/BCI checks are required.
Qualifications
