Responsibilities
- Actively participate in facilitating the learning of biomedical graduate students.
- Participate in curriculum development, assessment, and modification as part of the program's continuing quality improvement and assessment efforts.
- Aid other BMS faculty members with course management and administration.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of basic scientific and clinical faculty to create and implement basic science content in an innovative and integrated biomedical curriculum that follows established best practices.
- Participate in the developed and implemented student assessment and evaluation processes, providing feedback and remedial assistance to ensure that all students fulfill the established requirements.
- Participate in, develop, and facilitate a variety of active learning events, including case-based learning.
- Mentor and advise graduate BMS students.
Qualifications
- An earned Master’s-level degree (e.g., M.S., M.A.) in educational, biomedical (e.g., microbiology, physiology, biochemistry, genetics), or a related discipline (e.g., pharmacology) with documented teaching experience is preferred.
- Candidates with or on a path towards a terminal degree (e.g., Ed.D., Ph.D., DO, MD, Pharm. D.) and documented experience in medical education will also be considered.
- Evidence of ability or potential to conduct scholarly activity in medical education, or health policy/public health, ability to mentor students, and excellent interpersonal, team, and collaborative skills are essential.
- Preference will be given to candidates with documented teaching experience and a scholarly record emphasizing medical education, or health policy/public health.
