The Instructor, Assistant Technical Director position at the University of South Carolina is responsible for assisting the Technical Director in managing the technical aspects of productions.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and execution of technical elements for theatrical productions.
- Collaborate with designers, directors, and other production staff to ensure seamless integration of technical elements with artistic vision.
- Manage and maintain technical equipment and properties used in productions.
- Provide training and support to student technicians and assistants.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and guidelines during production processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Theatre, Technical Theatre, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in theatre production, preferably in scenic painting and properties construction.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Basic knowledge of lighting, sound, and stage management principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional experience in scenic painting and properties construction.
