Mount Saint Mary College School of Nursing seeks a full-time, tenure-track nursing faculty member to join our CCNE-accredited program dedicated to educating the next generation of nurses.

About the role

Our faculty work closely with undergraduate and graduate students through teaching in the classroom, skills laboratories, simulation labs, and/or clinical settings. Additionally, faculty will participate in the curriculum transition to a competency-based program and perform other academic duties in accordance with the mission of Mount Saint Mary College and the School of Nursing. Tenure-track positions include expectations of scholarship for promotion. Candidates may be granted service time towards promotion and/or tenure based on relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate versatile and effective teaching and mentoring practices that guide and engage students in pre-licensure and graduate nursing programs
  • Lead course coordination and supervision of clinical adjunct faculty in accordance with course requirements
  • Work collaboratively with faculty in program planning, curriculum change and improvement, and fulfillment of accreditation requirements
  • Provide academic advising to students
  • Participate in School of Nursing and College academic committees
  • Actively engage in college-wide activities such as Open Houses, Faculty Development Days, and Commencement
  • Be responsive to student needs through availability for office hours and on-campus days
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to working with a diverse group of students, especially first-generation students

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university
  • At least five (5) years of clinical experience
  • Unencumbered current New York RN license or eligibility

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Nursing or related field (Candidates enrolled in a doctoral program are invited to apply)
  • Experience in Nursing higher education in the classroom, laboratory, and/or clinic
  • Experience in Medical-Surgical, Critical Care, Mother Baby, Pediatrics, or Mental Health areas

Pay

Salary range: $72,000 to $90,000 annually. Faculty rank and salary will be commensurate with education and qualifications.

Schedule

Full-time, exempt position with an anticipated start date of January 2027. Work arrangement is onsite.

  • Remote Setting: Working from home or another location with access to virtual communication platforms and necessary technology

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or workstation
  • Frequent use of a computer keyboard and mouse
  • Ability to read and view screens for extended periods
  • Regular communication with coworkers and clients in person, over the phone, or via video calls
  • Occasionally lifting or moving items up to 10-15 pounds, such as office supplies, laptops, or documents
  • Periodic reaching for or bending to access files, supplies, or equipment
  • Walking short distances within the office or to meeting rooms
