About the role
Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) is a multi-campus institution located in Upstate New York, serving nearly 9,000 students annually. It is part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system and focuses on career and transfer preparation, workforce training, and distance learning.
Responsibilities
- Provide classroom and online instruction in Addictions Counseling/Human Services.
- Evaluate student performance and complete assessments as required by the college.
- Collaborate with colleagues on course and program development, as well as transfer course review.
- Visit internship sites on a regular basis at the direction of the Department Chairperson (involves travel throughout the Capital District).
- Perform duties as specified in the Faculty Contract, including participation in departmental, division-wide, and college-wide committees.
Requirements
Minimum qualifications include a Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field, at least three years of relevant experience, and prior college-level teaching experience preferred. A CASAC certification or equivalent experience is also preferred. Online, hybrid, and in-person teaching experience, as well as daytime and evening availability, are preferred.
Qualifications

Benefits
This position includes benefits for 12 months but has a work obligation of a 10-month appointment (151 workdays), reflecting responsibilities during the fall and spring semesters. The annual assigned teaching load is between thirty (30) and thirty-three (33) contact hours, typically distributed as eighteen (18) contact hours in the fall semester and fifteen (15) contact hours in the spring semester. There may be opportunities for evening and weekend teaching, as well as the potential for additional compensation through voluntary overload.
Pay
The salary for this position is $53,000.00 per year.

The position has a 10-month appointment (151 workdays) with an annual assigned teaching load of between thirty (30) and thirty-three (33) contact hours, typically distributed as eighteen (18) contact hours in the fall semester and fifteen (15) contact hours in the spring semester.
