Addictions Counselor

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Addictions Counselor to provide individual and group counseling services for adults struggling with substance use disorders. The ideal candidate will utilize evidence-based treatment approaches, develop individualized recovery plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support clients throughout their recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions for clients with substance use disorders.
• Provide clinical counseling and mental health support.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to treat substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and recovery goals in collaboration with clients.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
• Implement behavior management techniques to encourage healthy coping skills and positive behavioral changes.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care.
• Participate in crisis intervention and provide support during behavioral health emergencies as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in addiction counseling or a related behavioral health setting.
• Experience providing both individual and group therapy.
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based counseling techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
• Experience working with clients experiencing co-occurring mental health disorders, including PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
• Familiarity with medical terminology related to behavioral health and addiction treatment.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
