About the role

Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) is a multi‑campus SUNY institution located in Troy and Malta, New York, offering over 80 degree and certificate programs across three schools. The college serves roughly 9,000 students each year and is recognized for career and transfer preparation, workforce training, distance learning, and service to a diverse student body. This full‑time probationary faculty position is in the Department of Human Services and Chemical Dependency (Addictions Counseling) for the Spring 2027 semester, with teaching assignments possible at the Troy (main) campus or the Malta (HVCC North) campus, and may include evening, weekend, and online instruction.

Responsibilities

• Implement appropriate instructional duties in both classroom and laboratory settings.
• Develop and revise courses and curricula.
• Evaluate student performance.
• Participate on departmental, division‑wide, and college‑wide committees to build community and support professional development.
• Perform additional duties as specified in the Faculty Contract at the direction of the Department Chairperson.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Biology or a related discipline (to teach Anatomy & Physiology and other Health Sciences courses).
• A Bachelor’s degree in Biology paired with a Master’s degree in a related scientific, healthcare, or educational field will be
