Instructional Specialist-CTE Welding (Effective 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR)

About the role

Instruct students in Welding related to TUSD curriculum.

Responsibilities

  • Teach welding techniques and safety procedures.
  • Develop lesson plans aligned with TUSD curriculum standards.
  • Mentor students to improve their welding skills.
  • Evaluate student progress and provide feedback.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Two (2) years of experience in a specific trade area Welding.
  • Associate’s (or higher) degree OR completion of an AZ Department of Education-approved Academic Assessment Test OR 60 Semester-Hour credits at an institute of higher learning.
  • Copy of diploma, transcripts or test results must be submitted at time of hire.
  • Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.
  • FBI fingerprint background check.
  • Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
  • Employees assigned to certain sites that are working towards or hold NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) accreditation, are required to have or be pursuing ECE (Early Childhood Education) certification; ECE Certification is required within two years of hire.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a teacher aide preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Location: Cholla High School - Starr Pass & La Cholla Area, Sabino High School - Snyder & Harrison Area, Tucson High Magnet School 6th St. & Euclid Area
Classification: White Collar
FTE: 1.0 – 8 hours per day
Work Calendar: 9.0 month
Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
Internal candidates will transfer at a rate commensurate with their bargaining unit language.
