Responsibilities

  • Read The Art of Coaching and contribute to discussions
  • Collaborate on the creation of the “Look For” tool
  • Select the instructional focus for the year
  • Attend all 3 summer workdays (18 hours total)
  • Perform Base Camp and additional duties (lunch, SLP, hall, etc.)
  • Offer 4 flex activities per cycle
  • Meet with assigned CILs and engage in coaching with colleagues
  • Meet with the instructional coaching team on day 1
  • Conduct instructional walk-throughs using the “Look For” tool beginning in September
  • Initiate peer-to-peer coaching among the coach group in October
  • Select one “safe” teacher to begin coaching (focus on "coaching the coach")
  • Begin formal coaching cycles after midterm exams
  • Maintain clear records of coaching activities, reflections, and teacher growth
  • Attend check-ins with CILs or Administration to discuss progress and challenges
  • Utilize and maintain a CIL-developed coaching calendar to document coaching experience
  • Conduct end-of-cycle (coaching) survey with teachers to determine effectiveness of coaching and areas of growth

Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates who have:

  • Experience working with educators
  • A strong understanding of educational theory and best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to facilitate reflective conversations and provide constructive feedback
  • An understanding of the curriculum and instructional strategies
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Passion for supporting teachers in their professional development
