About The Project Armenia is at a pivotal moment for environmental action. Yet in classrooms across the country, environmental education remains fragmented, under-resourced, and disconnected from the natural world young people will inherit. We are changing that. We are building an environmental education platform for school-age youth, a learning ecosystem where students don't just study nature, they understand it, act to protect it, and document their impact. Spanning thematic modules across biodiversity, ecosystems, water, soil, forests, climate change, sustainable development, and civic environmental action, the platform follows a "learn–act–document" pedagogical loop and will launch publicly at CBD COP17 in Yerevan in October 2026, placing Armenia on the global map of environmental education innovation. About The Role We are looking for a skilled and creative Instructional Designer to design and develop the eLearning modules that form the educational core of the Evergreens platform. You will own the full content development cycle, from instructional architecture and learning pathway design through to storyboarding, interactive module production, learner assessment, and quality assurance, working in close collaboration with subject-matter experts, our Education Specialist, and the platform's design and development team. This is not a content-filling role. You will be making foundational decisions about how young learners encounter, process, and internalize environmental knowledge digitally. That means thinking carefully about sequencing and cognitive load, about when to explain and when to let a learner discover, about how to hold the attention of a young person who has never been taught why forests matter, and bring them to a place where they genuinely care and know what to do about it. Each module must work as a standalone learning experience while contributing to a coherent, progressive educational journey across the platform. You will be responsible for ensuring that coherence, building the instructional logic that connects every lesson, activity, and assessment into a unified whole. This role demands both analytical rigor and creative ambition. The platform's editorial and visual standard draws inspiration from the best of science communication, clear, precise, warm, and built for genuine engagement rather than passive consumption. We are looking for someone who takes instructional craft seriously, who has a point of view on how young people should experience environmental learning digitally, and who understands that the difference between a module learners complete and one they abandon often comes down to a single design decision made early in the storyboard. Required Qualifications And Experience Solid background in environmental education, environmental science, or a closely related field, with demonstrated ability to communicate environmental topics clearly and accurately to non-expert audiencesSignificant experience designing eLearning or digital educational content, preferably for youth or adolescent audiencesStrong command of instructional design methodologies and applied knowledge of learning theory including Bloom's Taxonomy and constructivist approachesDemonstrated ability to produce detailed storyboards and content scripts across a range of environmental topicsExperience developing interactive learning activities, scenario-based exercises, knowledge checks, and summative assessmentsAbility to communicate instructional requirements clearly and work collaboratively with visual designers and technical development teams throughout the full module production cycleExperience establishing or applying quality assurance processes covering instructional quality, factual accuracy, and learner usabilityExperience conducting or coordinating learner pilots and using findings to iterate and improve contentProfessional working proficiency in Armenian and English Desirable Experience working specifically within the Armenian or broader EECA education contextKnowledge of gamification principles and their application in youth-facing eLearningExperience with digital badge and open credentials systemsExperience working on EU-funded or internationally funded education or civil society programsPortfolio demonstrating interactive, multimedia-rich, or scenario-based eLearning content Interested applicants are invited to submit their resume through our website. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and shortlisted based on the requirements outlined above. Only shortlisted applicants will be invited to an interview. This project is implemented within the framework of the EU-funded "Sustainable, Impactful and Inclusive Civil Society" (SIICS) Project, implemented by the Democracy Development Foundation (DDF), People in Need (PIN), and the Boon Cultural-Scientific Foundation. It aims to strengthen the role of civil society in Armenia as a resilient, independent, and trusted actor in democratic governance, policy development, and community empowerment.
