Position Summary
The Instructional Designer is responsible for working independently, with limited supervision, to design, develop, and deliver high-quality instructional materials and training programs that align with our company objectives. Requires a higher level of creativity, problem-solving skills, and expertise in instructional design principles.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Create and design engaging, effective, and interactive learning materials, including eLearning courses or instructor-led training, job aids, and other resources.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather and organize content, ensuring accuracy and relevance to the target audience.
- Manage and execute the instructional design process for assigned projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Review and edit training materials for clarity, consistency, and instructional effectiveness.
- Propose and develop creative solutions to enhance the learning experience and improve existing training programs.
- Coach and provide guidance to lower-level professionals within the team, aiding in their professional development.
- Collaborate with peers and managers to address complex instructional design challenges and contribute to the improvement of learning processes.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Experience: Minimum 2 years related experience.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Human Resources or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Skills: Advanced knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning theory; proficiency in designing and developing a variety of learning materials, including eLearning courses, instructor-led training, job aids, and assessments; ability to create engaging and interactive learning experiences; practical knowledge of project management techniques to oversee instructional design projects from initiation to completion; strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines; familiarity with eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and Learning Management Systems (LMS); basic graphic design skills or proficiency in using graphic design software; excellent written and verbal communication skills with stakeholders (regular updates, manage expectations, gather feedback); change management skills (managing and communicating change); ability to create clear and coherent instructional materials; strong attention to detail for reviewing and editing training materials.
