Instructional Designer
About the Role
Lynch Consultants is seeking an Instructional Designer to design and develop engaging, scenario-based eLearning for adult and professional learners in a Department of Defense financial management environment. The position will work closely with client stakeholders, DoD financial management subject matter experts, learning technologists, graphic designers, and QA personnel to develop and modernize online learning courses.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop adult-learning eLearning courses aligned with defined learning objectives and instructional standards.
- Convert existing content into engaging, scenario-based, interactive learning experiences; develop storyboards, course scripts, narrative content, assessments, knowledge checks, and learner activities.
- Apply DoD financial management knowledge to ensure course content, scenarios, terminology, and examples are realistic and technically accurate.
- Collaborate with SMEs to translate complex DoD financial management policies, processes, and concepts into effective instruction.
- Work with Storyline developers and graphic designers to translate instructional designs into completed courseware.
- Incorporate client, SME, QA, and testing feedback throughout the development lifecycle.
- Support remediation of existing production courses when content, functionality, or learner-experience issues are identified.
- Develop visual treatments for scenario-based and decision-based learning experiences.
- Maintain course documentation and support multiple courses at different stages of development.
Requirements
- MUST be a U.S. Citizen.
- MUST have 5+ years of instructional design or eLearning development experience.
- MUST have demonstrated experience in creating graphics and multimedia for eLearning, training, or adult learning environments.
- MUST have a strong working knowledge of DoD financial management concepts, terminology, policies, and business processes.
- MUST have strong experience developing storyboards, scripts, assessments, scenarios, and interactive learning content.
- MUST have strong knowledge of ADDIE, SAM, or comparable instructional design methodologies—experience collaborating with SMEs and translating complex technical material into learner-focused content.
- MUST have familiarity with Articulate Storyline/360, Rise, or similar eLearning authoring tools.
- MUST have strong writing, editing, communication, and project-management skills.
Pay
Up to $83.00 per hour.
Schedule
Part-time, primarily remote position. Must be available during normal business hours for collaboration with Lynch personnel, client stakeholders, and other members of the course-development team.
