About the Role
The Instructional Designer plays a critical role in developing and enhancing high-quality academic courses in alignment with Hallmark University’s mission, learning outcomes, and instructional framework. This dynamic position requires initiative, creativity, flexibility, and strong communication skills. Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of new and revised courses in multiple delivery formats.
- Apply instructional design best practices, including the use of Bloom’s Taxonomy, the ADDIE model, and Quality Matters standards.
- Integrate multimedia, authentic assessments, and the Hallmark Character Program into course design.
- Ensure learning outcomes and assessments are clearly aligned and traceable throughout course content.
- Demonstrate responsiveness to feedback and new educational research.
- Leverage instructional technology effectively to support student engagement and success.
- Collaborate with Deans, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and Course Designers to align program and course outcomes.
- Support project management tasks including session start coordination, course corrections, and master course list maintenance.
- Provide leadership in resolving course design challenges and implementing scalable solutions.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication across departments to support smooth course delivery.
- Contribute to instructional design team initiatives, training, and processing documentation.
- Support the development of faculty training modules and instructional resources.
- Align contributions with Hallmark University’s educational model and mission.
- Make meaningful and frequent contributions to team improvement initiatives, ensuring measurable impact on instructional quality and team efficiency.
- Actively engage in the Hallmark Character Program to embody and promote core values.
- Participate in continuing professional development, including attending informational webinars and potential conferences.

- Understanding of Bloom’s Taxonomy, educational pedagogy, grading rubrics, ADDIE model, and Quality Matters Rubrics.
- Strong team player with demonstrated ability to forge supportive partnerships within and between departments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Information Technology, Communication Media, Educational Technology/Instructional Technology, Education, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in course creation, design, or teaching in a multi-delivery format, especially Online Higher Education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology/Instructional Technology, Education, or related field.
- Experience in Learning Management Systems.
- Technologically adapted with instructional software and familiar with Microsoft Office products.
