About the role
The Instructional Designer at CSUN plays a crucial role in enhancing teaching, learning, and faculty success through innovative faculty development programming and equitable practices.
Responsibilities
- Designs and delivers faculty development programming in various modalities (in-person, hybrid/blended, online).
- Consults, trains, and assists faculty in developing effective learning experiences, especially for diverse student populations.
- Facilitates workshops and interactive sessions, and contributes to all Faculty Development programs.
- Researches and evaluates new technologies, recommending best practices in instructional design and learning science.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience.
- Additional experience may substitute for the required education.
- Advanced degree in a related field may substitute for the required experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Expertise in instructional design principles, curriculum development, and adult learning practices.
- Ability to facilitate engaging workshops and deliver professional development in multiple instructional modalities.
- Knowledge of creating multi-media technologies and evaluating emerging technologies.
- Strong consultation, relationship-building, and collaborative communication skills.
- Strong organizational, project management, and event coordination skills.
Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule
The university offers an excellent benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, retirement & savings, tuition waiver, and more. The anticipated HIRING RANGE is $6492 – $6755 per month, dependent on qualifications and experience. The position is currently hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day remote); however, this is subject to change based on student and/or operational needs.
