About the role

The Dean of Students is directly responsible to the principal, with broad responsibilities to supervise school activities and coordinate the attendance policies. This instructional unit serves as a liaison between and among the principal, teachers, student body, and members of the community.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a liaison between and among the principal, teachers, student body, and members of the community.
• Supervise school activities.
• Coordinate attendance policies.
• Implement and enforce school attendance policies.
• Provide guidance and support to students regarding academic, social, and emotional issues.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve student behavior and academic performance.
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.
• Assist in developing and implementing school-wide initiatives to promote positive school culture and climate.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with graduate credits in education and leadership.
• A Master's Degree is desirable.
• A minimum of three years of successful teaching.
• A demonstrated proficiency for effective student behavior modification.
• A minimum of one year experience in supervising school related activities.
