Instructional Assistant Self-Contained I PT (2026-2027) - Highly Qualified (Title I School)

About the role

This position requires a candidate who meets one of the following qualifications: an associate's degree or higher from an accredited college/university, 48 semester hours from an accredited college/university, or passing the ParaPro Assessment.

Responsibilities

• Work with special education students in both individual and small group settings to provide instruction and behavior support.
• Build relationships with students.
• Follow Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Behavior Plans.
• Maintain professionalism and communicate effectively with grade level teachers.

Requirements

• Completion of Basic Training (5 hours) provided by JSD Special Education Department within one week of hire as a condition of employment.
• Completion of additional 40 hours of training through the Special Education department to qualify for Lane 5 within six (6) months from hire date as a condition of employment.
