Instructional Assistant Permanent Substitute (February - June 2026)

Responsibilities

• Aid pupils in obtaining necessary lessons, skill sheets, and procedures.
• Support teachers with tasks like test correction, result recording, photocopying, and maintaining student records.
• Administer or assist in administering district assessments under teacher guidance.
• Teach individual or small group lessons using prepared materials under teacher direction.
• Instruct students on assessing and recording their work under teacher supervision.
• Secure classroom supplies and create learning materials as directed by the teacher.
• Enforce school rules and handle disciplinary issues fairly and firmly, reporting serious infractions to the teacher and/or building administration.
• Supervise students during arrival times, recesses, lunch hours, and departures.

Qualifications

• At least two years of college or equivalent two years of experience working with children.
• Knowledge of computer use and classroom technology applications.
• Basic clerical skills and proficiency in word processing.
