Bridge Instructional Assistant Permanent Substitute (March - June 2026)

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assist students as needed in their daily routines across classroom activities and/or settings.
  • Aid in the collection of data for behavioral or academic progress.
  • Initiate and implement behavioral interventions as directed by the classroom teacher.
  • Participate in staff meetings to discuss classroom curricular expectations and student needs across all developmental areas.
  • Lead and/or facilitate teaching of individuals in 1:1, small group, or whole class instruction.
  • Support individual students in following routines, directions, schedules, and completing tasks.
  • Monitor students continuously, including during off-campus activities like lunch and transitions.
  • Assist students needing self-help skills in areas such as safety, eating, and toileting.
  • Create materials as time permits and as directed by the teacher.
  • Prepare the room daily for instruction in the morning or end of day as designated by the teacher.
  • Remain professional and maintain confidentiality regarding student information at all times.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of two years of college or equivalent two years of experience working with children.
  • Prior experience or preferred knowledge/experience working with students on the autism spectrum.
  • Preferred knowledge and/or experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
