Instructional Assistant - Part Time - Table Rock Elementary

About the role

The Title I Instructional Assistant works closely with classroom teachers and reading/math interventionists to deliver small-group instruction, one-on-one support, and targeted academic interventions in reading and math. This role involves following lesson plans, tracking student progress, assisting in the development of instructional materials, and creating a positive and structured learning environment. Candidates who are bilingual in Spanish are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Deliver small-group instruction and one-on-one academic support in reading and math
• Follow lesson plans and structured instructional routines provided by licensed staff
• Track student progress and assist with data collection
• Help develop instructional materials under the guidance of teachers and interventionists
• Create and maintain a positive, structured learning environment

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Meet one of the following:
  • Two years of postsecondary education
  • Associate’s degree or higher
  • Passing score on the district’s reading, writing, and math assessment
• Valid Oregon driver’s license and reliable transportation
• CPR/First Aid certification encouraged

Qualifications

• Ability to build rapport with students
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Desire to support academic growth and close achievement gaps
• Prior experience in an educational setting is helpful but not required

Schedule

• Contract days: 174 days per year
• Daily hours: 3.75 hours per day
• Position begins September 8, 2026

Pay

$17.54 per hour (current 2023–2026 Collective Bargaining Agreement rate; subject to change)
