Instructional Assistant - Literacy

Purpose

Aid students in achieving reading skills at grade level.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a classroom assistant desirable.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to take direction.
• Initiative and dependability in carrying out assignments.
• Patience and genuine interest in education of students.
• Awareness and respect for student diversity.
• Clerical skills, flexibility, and confidentiality required.

Training

Training for this position will be implemented upon hiring.

Terms of Employment

• This is a 9 month position for 5.5 hours/day (plus 1/2 hour unpaid lunch).
• This position is not eligible for benefits.
• Pay is based on experience and/or education and ranges from $16.58 - $24.67.
