About the role

Part‑time, permanent Instructional Assistant II position at Starr King Elementary. One opening.

Responsibilities

• Run small groups and assist students in large groups in both Special Day Class and General Education settings.
• Support the teacher’s instructional needs.
• In some programs, obtain a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire (or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license).

Requirements

Title I sites require pre‑qualification by attaching ONE of the following:

• [A] Passing score from SJUSD's Proficiency Exam (test date April 2005 to current).
• [B] Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST).
• [C] Official transcripts showing completion of two years of college (48 semester/60 quarter units).
• [D] Proof of an A.A. degree or higher.
• If degree/transcripts are from a foreign institution, coursework must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency.

Qualifications

Experience working with students in mild/moderate programs (Resource, Learning Handicap, Communicatively Handicap). Any combination of experience and training that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties is acceptable.
