Instructional Assistant-IBI (Intensive Behavior Intervention)
About the role
The Instructional Assistant-IBI (Intensive Behavior Intervention) plays a crucial role in supporting students with intensive behavior intervention needs within Alvord Unified School District. This position requires a strong commitment to student success and a willingness to engage in evidence-based practices.
Responsibilities
- Supports students with intensive behavior intervention needs through individualized plans and strategies.
- Collaborates with teachers, parents, and other school staff to implement behavior intervention plans.
- Monitors student progress and adjusts interventions as necessary based on data.
- Provides direct support to students during class time and breaks.
- Assists in creating a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Requirements / Qualifications
- CPR/First Aid Certification (Red Cross First Aid/CPR Certificate)
- A High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to type at least 35 words per minute
- Experience working with children and adolescents
- Knowledge of behavior intervention techniques and strategies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
