Instructional Assistant (general education)
About the role
Spectrum is a grade 5-12 college-prep charter school located in Elk River, MN since 2006. We have a robust concurrent enrollment program known as C@SH (College at Spectrum High). Over the course of two years, Spectrum students have the opportunity to complete the MN Transfer Curriculum or an AA degree while remaining entirely on the high school campus. Spectrum is leading the way in excellence in education, and is seeking a full-time instructional assistant who is passionate about making a difference for students. The position serves general education students as part of Spectrum's multi-tiered support system in general education classrooms.
Responsibilities
- Support teachers in creating a positive learning environment for students
- Assist with classroom management and organization
- Provide additional academic support to students as needed
- Work collaboratively with other members of the Spectrum team
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required
- Experience working with students in a K-12 setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- Passion for education and a commitment to student success
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of educational technology tools
- Ability to adapt to changing classroom needs
