Job Responsibilities
- Affords instruction in a clear, calm, and respectful manner.
- Assists teacher with small group or individual instruction.
- Assists teacher with essential classroom and classroom-related tasks.
- Serves as a role model for good citizenship.
- Enforces the CCS Student Code of Conduct, the CCS Uniform Code, and the CCS Computer Usage Code.
- Maintains the highest level of confidentiality regarding school and students' information, progress, and records.
- Ensures compliance with all federal, state, local, and charter requirements, regulations, and laws.
- Works collaboratively with teachers and other staff members.
- Assists in the training of other instructional assistants.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Education and PA Certification preferred.
- Experience and demonstrated competency as a classroom assistant, special education assistant, or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of basic computer operations.
- Ability to solve practical problems, take initiative, and deal with a variety of variables.
- Clearances include Criminal Background Clearance (Act 34), Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151), and FBI Fingerprint Clearance (Act 114), all dated within one year of receipt.
- Meets criteria for employment in a PA Public School Work Environment.
