About the role
The Antioch Unified School District serves more than 16,150 students in grades K-12. It includes 13 elementary schools, 4 middle schools, 2 comprehensive high schools, 3 specialized high schools, 2 alternative high schools, and 1 K-8 school. The district also offers home schooling programs, adult education courses, and other unique programs. Antioch Unified School District is centrally located in the East Bay and provides access to various recreational areas.
Responsibilities
- Assist a certificated teacher in providing instruction to individuals or small groups of limited or non-English speaking students in a classroom environment.
- Interpret written materials and oral lectures for limited or non-English speaking students.
- Serve as an interpreter for teachers or non-English speaking parents as directed.
- Perform a variety of clerical support duties including maintaining student records and files.
Qualifications
- Any combination of education and experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities.
- Read, write, and speak proficiently in both English and Spanish.
Selection & Examinations
The selection process will consist of an application and supplemental screening for completeness and qualifications. A written exam meeting the "Every Student Succeeds Act" requirement (weighted 40%) and an oral interview exam (weighted 60%) will be conducted. A passing score must be achieved on each portion of the exams. The dates of the exams are to be determined. Final selection will be made from those who achieve the three highest ranking scores.
