Essential Job Functions

• Works with the teacher to support the instructional plan of the teacher.
• Gives group instruction as directed by the teacher and works with small groups of students to reinforce material initially introduced by the teacher.
• Gives individualized instruction to pupils as directed by the teacher.
• Maintains confidentiality in matters pertaining to the student(s) and the class.
• Serves in place of the teacher when requested by the administration.
• Prepares instructional materials and employs them with student groups.
• Acquires materials appropriate for use with specific student groups; plans material use to supplement lesson plans; develops lesson plans in conjunction with the teacher; and determines the manner in which lesson plans and supplemental materials will be employed in classrooms.
