The Ballmer Institute for Children's Behavioral Health at the University of Oregon is seeking an Office Specialist 2 to join the Institute Support Specialist team. Reporting to the Executive Assistant for the Executive Director, this role oversees all operations of the Ballmer Institute Reception Desk, providing high-level customer service and general office support.

About the Role

This position serves as the first point-of-contact for the Ballmer Institute, interacting with faculty, staff, students, and external visitors. Key responsibilities include supporting institute leaders with scheduling and travel arrangements, managing the front desk area, and assisting the Community Advisory Board.

Requirements

  • Two years of general clerical experience, including typing and document generation; OR
  • An Associate's degree in Office Occupations or Office Technology; OR
  • Graduation from a private school of business with a Certificate in Office Occupations or Office Technology and one year of general clerical experience; or
  • College courses in Office Occupations or Office Technology to substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a higher education setting, preferably in an academic support, administrative, or faculty services role.

Professional Competencies

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and manage time appropriately
  • Ability to work well independently and contribute as a team member
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite
  • Familiarity with Canvas and website tools

Salary

$19.36 - $28.75 per hour FTE: 1.0

Schedule

Regular, Ongoing
