Institute Support Specialist
The Ballmer Institute for Children's Behavioral Health at the University of Oregon seeks an Office Specialist 2 to join the Institute Support Specialist team. Reporting to the Executive Assistant for the Executive Director, this role provides high-level customer service and general office support at the Ballmer Institute Reception Desk.
About the Role
The Institute Support Specialist supports Institute leaders, manages the front desk area, and assists the Community Advisory Board. This position is ideal for candidates with two years of general clerical experience, including typing and document generation, or an Associate's degree in Office Occupations or Office Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities
- Support for Institute leaders, including scheduling and travel arrangements
- Management of the front desk area
- Assistance with the Community Advisory Board
- General office support, including data entry, filing, and answering phones
- Managing timelines and executing related tasks
- Ensuring smooth operation of the reception desk
Requirements
- Two years of general clerical experience, including typing and document generation
- One year of which must include typing, word processing, or other experience generating documents
- An Associate's degree in Office Occupations or Office Technology
- Graduation from a private school of business with a Certificate in Office Occupations or Office Technology and one year of general clerical experience
- College courses in Office Occupations or Office Technology will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite
- Familiarity with Canvas and website tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a higher education setting, preferably in an academic support, administrative, or faculty services role
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with limited supervision and manage time appropriately
- Ability to work well independently and contribute as a team member

The salary range for this position is $19.36 - $28.75 per hour FTE: 1.0
