Installer IV

About the role

The Installer IV at Andersen Corporation is responsible for running projects independently, including standard installs, Andersen retro-fits, and patio doors. This role requires advanced knowledge and skills in window and door installation, including handling complex scopes of work.

Responsibilities

• Install basic and intermediate window and door products in accordance with Renewal standards and productivity expectations.
• Apply stucco flashing and waterproofing.
• Perform intermediate aluminum bending tasks.
• Mull products in the field or warehouse without supervision.
• Cut and apply extension jambs.
• Modify window and door openings to meet egress requirements.
• Complete job close information, accurately logging service items and setting next steps with homeowners.
• Set all product styles and styles without supervision.
• Assure jobsite safety practices and procedures are followed, including PPE, fall protection, power tool use, and proper lifting requirements.
• Make necessary decisions about work site set-up, workflow, and installation techniques.
• Avoid hazards on the jobsite and address them as needed.
• Resolve customer concerns and questions in a timely and professional manner.
• Problem-solve installation concerns with field techs or installation managers.
• Perform routine inspections of tools and equipment for proper guarding and damage.
• Maintain company vehicle in accordance with Fleet policy.
• Install insulation of all types (spray foam, fiberglass, etc.).
• Dismantle and reassemble windows, window coverings, and hardware.
• Provide technical measures and service support as needed.
• Coach and train Install I & II, and III.
• Provide corrective action feedback related to safety on the job site.
• Lift up to 83 pounds.
• Manage work schedules, job priorities, and stock levels.
• Communicate effectively with team members and homeowners.
• Handle confrontation/conflicts with a tactful and diplomatic approach.
• Provide advanced communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Perform advanced finish carpentry tasks (curved, step, wide trim, etc.).
• Understand and apply advanced framing and construction knowledge.
• Install and dismantle service parts and hardware.
• Show advanced listening, empathy, and conflict resolution skills.
• Use advanced math skills, including accurate tape measure usage.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving tasks.
• Understand advanced building codes and water management techniques.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• Valid Driver’s License with ability to pass a fleet check.
• Window and Door installation experience.
• Intermediate knowledge of framing and construction.
