Installation Technician - J Craft

About the role
Responsible for meeting customer needs by performing layout, wiring, and mounting of custom truck bodies on trucks; setting up and operating machines that cut, bend, saw, and punch steel into custom parts; and completing mechanics work such as hydraulics, PTO (power take-off) mounting, and pump installation. Additional duties include maintaining a clean work environment and other tasks as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Layout, wiring, and mounting of custom truck bodies on trucks
- Set up and operate machines to cut, bend, saw, and punch steel into custom parts
- Perform mechanics work including hydraulics, PTO (power take-off), and pump installation
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Read job specifications, blueprints, and measuring devices to determine material layouts and machine adjustments
- Perform basic computer data entry
- Work in a team environment to identify effective countermeasures and meet company goals
- Attain and maintain production efficiencies and quality standards
- Follow safety procedures, wear personal protective equipment, and communicate hazards
Requirements
- Basic math skills for accurate machine setup, measurement, and problem-solving
- Ability to manually move product and materials up to 50 lbs. through regular heavy physical exertion (lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending)
- Ability to push and pull up to 100 lbs. using overhead hoists
- Ability to stand and work on concrete for several hours at a time
- Ability to work in various positions, including kneeling, crouching, bending, twisting, turning, and climbing
- Basic understanding of hydraulics, PTO, frames, pumps, electrical controls, and wiring
- Detail-oriented, energetic, and goal-driven
- Team player who collaborates across departments and facilities
Tools & Equipment
- Overhead chain hoists, forklift trucks, handcarts, hand/air tools, business operating system
Safety Equipment
- Safety glasses, steel-toed shoes with metatarsal guards, ear plugs, gloves, aprons, safety props, grinding shields, welding sleeves
Work Environment
Heavy industrial atmosphere with exposure to grease, oil, heat, humidity, occasionally cramped quarters, and possibly wet conditions.
Pay
$19.00 to $25.00 per hour (non-exempt, hourly position; paid bi-weekly).
Schedule
Four (4) ten-hour days, Monday through Friday. Overtime may be available on the fifth day and/or Saturdays.
Location
On-site: 52182 Ember Road, Lake Crystal, MN 56055. Minimal to no travel required.
