Installation Technician

About the Role

This role will work closely with project management, operations, and installation teams to install new nurse call systems at customer healthcare sites.

Responsibilities

• Take daily direction from the Installation Supervisor or Operations Services Manager.
• Perform service, maintenance, modifications, and installation at customer healthcare sites with minimal supervision.
• Provide on-site customer repairs, delivering timely and effective solutions.
• Diagnose system malfunctions to prevent additional problems.
• Follow procedures for testing equipment and perform preventive maintenance activities, adhering to quality assurance testing plans.
• Coordinate modification and maintenance activities to prevent interruptions in operations.
• Inform Supervisor/Manager of system problems immediately for relay, communication, and escalation.
• Prepare and provide reports on system issues and projects as requested.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with sales, co-workers, other departments, and customers.
• Dedicate yourself to providing excellent customer service and develop strong relationships with customers at various levels.
• Manage company assets, including a company vehicle, cell phone, computer, tools, and inventory parts.
• Operate safely and within guidelines or regulations, demonstrating a proactive approach to safety, health, and quality.

Requirements

• Strong work ethic; reliable, punctual, and self-motivated without needing micromanagement.
• Genuine willingness to learn hands-on trade skills on the job.
• Ability to take direction and work well with teammates on-site.
• Prior technical or trade experience is a plus but not required; work ethic and willingness to learn are prioritized.
• Proficient use of tools and service test equipment.
• Comfortable working in a two-person team, depending on and being depended on by your partner—this is not a solo role.
• Ability to operate in customer locations with minimal supervision.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.
• Effective communication with customers, employees, and management.
• Willingness to travel extensively—typically 2-3 weeks at a time, living out of hotels, with early mornings and long physical days. This is a major lifestyle commitment, not occasional travel.
• Ability and willingness to work different shifts as business needs dictate.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record over the last 3 years.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently climb and work from ladders, including in ceilings, ductwork, and other overhead or tight spaces.
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs of tools, cable, and equipment.
• Stand, kneel, crouch, and reach overhead for extended periods during a shift.
• Work in active construction environments alongside general contractors, including exposure to noise, dust, and uneven surfaces.
• Sustain extended travel schedules, typically 2-3 weeks at a time, including nights away from home.

Pay

This position offers a pay rate of $18.00-$22.00 per hour, based on factors including work experience, interview performance, internal equity, geography, and expected level of responsibilities.
