Installation Technician

About the role

The Installation Technician installs equipment, performs repairs, and services customer equipment while adhering to all safety guidelines established by Raymond West and OSHA. This role maintains strong communication and working relationships with customers, peers, and management.

Responsibilities

• Build and install all types of equipment that Raymond West sells and services.
• Update training and skills on a continuing basis; train other employees as needed.
• Follow all Storage & Automation Department procedures.
• Communicate with assigned Supervisor.
• Complete all service documentation in a timely, accurate fashion.
• Have the necessary tools to perform the InstallComplete jobs within quoted time limits when applicable.
• Maintain a clean and orderly (inside and outside) vehicle.
• Represent the company favorably in all situations.
• Pass all available certifications appropriate to the position.
• Maintain good working knowledge of customers and equipment in assigned areas.
• Report all accidents promptly, regardless of fault.
• Work overtime when necessary; coordinate all overtime with the assigned supervisor.
• Follow all procedures in the company’s Employee Handbook and safety procedures.
• Work out of town as necessary.
• Establish a positive rapport with customers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Minimum of 3 years breakdown experience or comparable service experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and similar software.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Sound working knowledge of basic D.C. and A.C. electricity.
• Sound welding skills with a primary focus on arc as well as torch skills.
• Must pass or possess all available certificates appropriate to the position.
• Must be able to maintain effective working relationships with employees, co-workers, and managers in other departments.
• Must be willing to work off-hours as specific needs dictate and assume more responsibility as required.

Travel Requirement

This position is field-based and requires daily travel within assigned territories. Technicians are provided a company vehicle and a company Fuel Card to pay for vehicle expenses. Must be insurable by Raymond West.

Physical Requirements

• Non-sedentary position.
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally required to smell, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
• Frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration.
• The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud.

Pay

The hourly range for this position is $20.00 - $50.00. The specific pay offered may be influenced by factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location.
