Installation Technician
About the role
An Installation Technician is responsible for all Pella installation and upkeep within two years of installation. This role provides exceptional customer service to ensure satisfaction and consistently delivers on the value proposition in alignment with company strategy.
Responsibilities
- Always exhibit the highest standard of personal ethics and adhere to all Pella Carolina policies.
- Promote a culture of safety and accountability by adhering to established protocols, proactively identifying potential risks, and fostering a workplace environment where safety is a shared priority.
- View daily dashboard to maintain awareness of current and upcoming workload, perform site check-ins, and ensure installations are operating efficiently.
- Serve as field level point of contact for service team and Installers while ensuring 3rd party crews work is being performed within company specifications.
- Navigate and utilize various computer systems on laptop, iPad and iPhone to effectively communicate project progress via reports and photos to Installation team.
- Perform diagnostics and determine appropriate path forward to repairing windows and doors while effectively communicating the proper course of action to customers and reassure them through the process.
- Perform hands on service work to include sash/glass replacement, hardware installation, panel replacement, and corrections to improve operation of windows and doors.
Requirements
- Must meet company driver qualification and insurability requirements and maintain acceptable motor vehicle record.
- Must be dependable, neat in appearance, a good listener, and personable with good communication skills for direct customer contact.
- 2+ years of construction/maintenance, building material, or similar field experience.
- Must be capable of lifting/moving heavy loads (100+ lbs.) throughout the day and without additional assistance.
- Must be able to work from ladders and scaffolding.
- Takes a proactive approach to tasks and maintains ownership of assigned projects.
Qualifications
- High School Graduate or Equivalent.
- 2 years of successful Customer Service Preferred.
- Window and Door knowledge preferred.
