About the role

As an Installation Technician, you’ll work independently at customers’ homes and businesses, installing the latest technology for high-speed broadband, Wi-Fi, and voice services. You’ll solve problems, meet new people daily, and enjoy varied tasks—from installing new lines to activating Wi-Fi networks. No two days will be the same.

Responsibilities

  • Install and activate high-speed broadband, Wi-Fi, and voice services
  • Work independently at customer locations as a trusted expert
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
  • Climb ladders (up to 28 ft.) and work in small spaces
  • Lift and move equipment up to 60 lbs., including ladders weighing 50-60 lbs.
  • Identify wire and cable colors
  • Be available for overtime, emergency callouts, and holiday work

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
  • Must weigh less than 325 lbs. for ladder safety
  • Qualify on pre-employment assessments

Pay

Installation Technicians earn between $20.09 and $35.65 hourly, with average starting earnings of $57,970 per year. Individual starting salary may vary based on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.

$5,000 sign-on bonus (not applicable to internal employees), paid out as follows:

  • $1,000 after 90 days of service (no COBC violations or written disciplinary actions)
  • $1,500 after 6 months of service (no COBC violations or written disciplinary actions)
  • $2,500 after 1 year of service (no COBC violations or written disciplinary actions)

Schedule

  • Full-time (40 hours per week)
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, overtime, and emergency callouts
