About the role
As an Installation Technician, you’ll work independently at customers’ homes and businesses, installing the latest technology for high-speed broadband, Wi-Fi, and voice services. You’ll solve problems, meet new people daily, and enjoy varied tasks—from installing new lines to activating Wi-Fi networks. No two days will be the same.
Responsibilities
- Install and activate high-speed broadband, Wi-Fi, and voice services
- Work independently at customer locations as a trusted expert
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Climb ladders (up to 28 ft.) and work in small spaces
- Lift and move equipment up to 60 lbs., including ladders weighing 50-60 lbs.
- Identify wire and cable colors
- Be available for overtime, emergency callouts, and holiday work
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid state driver’s license
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
- Must weigh less than 325 lbs. for ladder safety
- Qualify on pre-employment assessments
Pay
Installation Technicians earn between $20.09 and $35.65 hourly, with average starting earnings of $57,970 per year. Individual starting salary may vary based on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
$5,000 sign-on bonus (not applicable to internal employees), paid out as follows:
- $1,000 after 90 days of service (no COBC violations or written disciplinary actions)
- $1,500 after 6 months of service (no COBC violations or written disciplinary actions)
- $2,500 after 1 year of service (no COBC violations or written disciplinary actions)
Schedule
- Full-time (40 hours per week)
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, overtime, and emergency callouts
