Installation Technician

About the role

Apex Systems has an immediate need for a seasoned Service Technician for a large Security System installation client. This is a 3 month contract with potential for extension and hire opportunity. This position is 100% on site.

Requirements

• Active PERC card
• Must have a clean driving record and own transportation
• 2+ years of experience installing security systems (CCTV, Access Controls, Intrusion Detection)
• 2+ years experience as a service technician for troubleshooting skills with card access systems
• Minimum of 2+ years in servicing commercial access control, IP-based video systems, and intrusion alarm systems
• At least 2 years of experience in troubleshooting and programming networked access control and IP video systems, including working on customer networks
• Essential knowledge and practical experience with the internet and networking
• Ability to work independently and resolve problems to customer satisfaction
• Must possess a valid driving license and a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
• High School diploma or GED

Skills and abilities

• Experience servicing commercial electronic security devices including video systems, access control, IP cameras, intrusion detection, video analytics, IP network systems, and overall security systems
• Experience as a multi-site Network Support Specialist or similar role is acceptable
• Ability to support customer systems via remote diagnostics with professionalism

Responsibilities

• Service, troubleshoot, and test enterprise security systems with minimal supervision
• Troubleshoot and program networked IP video systems and access control devices
• Service commercial intrusion alarm systems and other IoT connected systems
• Maintain detailed, structured, and timely work practices
• Understand the importance of thorough documentation and clear communication
• Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with clients

Education

Electronics training from a Technical School or Military training in electronics or communications is preferred.
