Installation and Service Technician

About the role

Tetra is seeking an Installation and Service Technician to deploy multifamily access control and IP camera solutions. The position is based in San Antonio, Texas (Hybrid / 20% travel required within the local area) and is full‑time. Project scope includes installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of multifamily and commercial low‑voltage infrastructure. Mandatory licences and certifications: Valid Texas Security license and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and service complex access control systems including card readers, door hardware, and system controllers.
• Terminate, route, and troubleshoot low‑voltage wiring for networked surveillance systems and security infrastructure.
• Diagnose technical hardware failures, wiring faults, and device communication performance issues in the field.
• Keep detailed documentation regarding customer contact and progress on various projects.
• Interpret architectural wiring diagrams, blueprints, and specific technical installation documentation to execute deployments accurately.
• Coordinate daily with project managers, field technicians, and multifamily property managers to complete scheduled service calls.
• Maintain clear and accurate documentation of completed on‑site installations, infrastructure repairs, and preventative maintenance activities.

Required Qualifications

• Proven hands‑on experience with low‑voltage wiring practices and structural cabling installations.
• Solid technical understanding of access control systems and IP‑based camera technology networks.
