About the role
The Installer job is physically demanding. Stamina and enthusiasm are required! You don’t need experience with garage doors—our team will train you on everything you need to know, including the customer experience, the key to our success.

Responsibilities
- Install new garage doors for residential customers
- Remove existing doors and mechanical parts
- Replace worn or broken door parts using tools
- Assemble mechanical parts
- Install springs, sections, slats, and hardware
- Run wiring to connect equipment
- Lubricate and test mechanical parts for proper functioning
- Educate customers on upgraded parts and services to ensure satisfaction
- Document activities related to installations
Requirements
- 21 years old with a valid driver’s license (3+ years driving record)
- Able to bend, climb, kneel, and stand for long periods
- Physically able to lift 75 lbs and lift garage door panels above head
- Able to stand on a ladder
- Basic knowledge of hand tools (power drill, hammer, saw, etc.)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test (not including THC) and criminal background check
- Knowledge of basic software (navigation apps, Google) and tablet/computer use
- Reading skills and basic math (measurements, payments) required (GED/HS diploma not required)
- Professional and approachable appearance
- Current eligibility to legally work in the United States
Training & Career Path
Our apprenticeship is a 4-week training program at the A1 Training Academy in Phoenix, AZ. A1 covers flights and accommodations for the duration of your training. Training weeks are paid at $20/hour for 45–50 hours per week (overtime eligible), averaging $1,000+ per week. Upon completion, you’ll receive a $1,000 bonus and graduate to a junior installer, performing duties in and around your market.
Pay
- Starting pay: $36.75/hour (piece rate) + commission on additional sales/services
- $1,000 bonus upon completion of the Training Academy (in addition to weekly pay)
