This job is physically demanding—stamina and enthusiasm are required! You don’t need prior garage-door experience; we’ll train you on everything, including the customer experience that’s key to our success.

Responsibilities

• Install new garage doors for residential customers
• Remove existing door and mechanical parts
• Replace worn or broken door parts using tools
• Assemble mechanical parts
• Install springs, sections, slats, and hardware
• Run wiring to connect equipment
• Lubricate and test mechanical parts for proper functioning
• Educate customers on upgraded parts and services and ensure satisfaction
• Document activities related to installations

Requirements

• 21 years old with a valid driver’s license (3+ years driving record)
• Able to bend, climb, kneel, and stand for long periods
• Physically able to lift 75 lbs and lift garage door panels above head
• Able to stand on a ladder
• Basic knowledge of hand tools (power drill, hammer, saw, etc.)
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test (not including THC) and criminal background check
• Knowledge of basic software such as navigation apps, Google, tablets, and computers
• Reading skills and basic math skills (measurements, payments)
• Professional and approachable appearance
• Current eligibility to legally work in the United States

Training & Career Path

Our apprenticeship is a 4-week training program at the A1 Training Academy in Phoenix, AZ. A1 covers flights and accommodations for the duration of your training. All apprenticeship weeks are paid at $20/hour; you’ll typically work 45–50 hours per week and qualify for overtime, averaging $1,000 or more weekly. After completing training, you’ll receive a $1,000 bonus and graduate to a junior installer, performing duties in and around your market.

Pay

• Starting pay: $36.75/hour (piece rate) + commission on additional sales/services
• $1,000 bonus upon completion of the Training Academy (in addition to weekly pay)
