About the role
AECOM is seeking a Quality Control Specialist IV (Inspector / Quality Assurance Manager) to be based in Denver, CO.
Job Duties
- Observe construction work that will be done by the Design-Build Contractor to review for conformance with the Design-Build contract requirements and the approved Construction Documents prepared by the DB Contractor.
- Serve in the role of Lead Construction Inspector and possess an architectural, engineering, or construction background, with previous experience as a lead inspector.
- Prepare correspondence and maintain official construction site records.
- Conduct meetings to resolve problems on construction projects, and brief clients and management personnel.
- Interpret construction drawings and specifications on construction projects.
- Incorporate active site and market conditions into guidance and impacts to construction costs and time impacts for changes, and effectively collaborate with Cost Estimator and Scheduler to produce accurate summaries and updates.
- Make materials take-offs for construction work, price the value of needed work, evaluate proposals and Bill of materials, negotiate equitable contract adjustments.
- Inspect materials, workmanship, and construction and installation and activation / commissioning of various specialty systems (Building Systems - BAS/DDC and MEP, Fire Life Safety - FA/AFSS, Security - IT/IS/NII, etc) within the inspector's area of expertise.
- Show knowledge of safety practices in the construction industry, including familiarity with OSHA safety requirements on construction projects.
- Have prior experience working on GSA and/or other federal agency or government construction projects, including LPOEs, secure military bases/compounds.
Qualifications
- BA/BS + 6 Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Valid US Drivers license.
- Drug Screen.
- Prior experience leading the QA/QC and inspection major site infrastructure, horizontal sitework, vertical construction replacement and modernization projects.
- Prior experience working on GSA and/or other federal agency or government construction projects, including LPOEs, secure military bases/compounds.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 15+ years total experience of which 5+ years must have been in a construction management role including experience providing QA/QC management and on-site inspection on construction projects.
- Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education; Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Engineering, or Architecture.
- Professional Engineering Certification, License or Architectural Registration.
- Prior experience working on GSA and/or other federal agency or government construction projects, including LPOEs, secure military bases/compounds.

Additional Information
- United States Citizenship is required for US work authorization.

- This position is anticipated to be fulltime onsite for a minimum of 60mos up to 78 months.
- Relocation and/or per diem may be available for this position - TBD.
- This position may be subject to a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Record Screening.
- Employees may be required to maintain additional AECOM sponsored federal training and certifications.
- Work Schedule is TBD but will likely be five (5) weekday / eight (8) hour workday (possible four (4) day / ten (10) hour workday) with some shifts occurring earlier or later to accommodate cooler weather for placement off specific work items (e.g. Concrete flatwork).
