Inspector Packer-3rd Shift

About the role

Position: Inspector Packer
Location: Chatham, NY
Pay: $20.66 an hour plus $1.00 shift differential
Shift: 3rd shift

Responsibilities

• Make boxes with appropriate labels attached.
• Utilize hands, packing forks, and/or other methods to transfer product to appropriate package.
• Inspect products for conformance to specifications. Utilize gauges to check basic dimensions or other specifications.
• Notify operator or supervisor when quality problems are detected.
• Discard product not meeting specifications.
• Seal containers and place on skid utilizing the box lifter.
• Perform duties in accordance with all safety rules and use safe work methods.
• Work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously as needed.
• Gain a working knowledge of our products and their quality requirements during your training period.
• Communicate with supervisors and peers while establishing and maintaining a constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.
• Oversee overtime requirements as needed.

Requirements

• Possess the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills.
• Manual dexterity required with the ability to use both hands for packing and be able to stand and perform repetitive motions.
• Able to relate well to others and maintain effective working relationships.
• Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Being reliable, having good initiative, being committed, and being quality focused is a must.

Qualifications

• Prefer 1-2 years manufacturing experience (not required).
