Responsibilities
- Perform inspections of incoming and outgoing engines, components, and materials to meet quality control requirements.
- Determine that no defective, unserviceable, or non-airworthy condition exists prior to release to service and checking all documentation for accuracy.
- Check incoming engines, components, and materials for hidden damage.
- Consult with your Lead Inspector and generate inspection reports as needed.
- Perform shipping and receiving duties.
- Mentor Inspector I in proper inspection tool usage, inspection report writing, and complex inspections required for Inspector II.
Qualifications / Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience and Powerplant license required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with 2+ types of engines required (CFM56-5B, CFM56-7B, and/or V2500).
- FAA P License required (FAA A&P license preferred).
- Proficient in conducting engine inspections to include QEC Inventories, GVI, and DI.
- Generate inspection reports for engines and components.
- Knowledge and familiarity of FAA airworthiness directives, service bulletins, manufacturer's maintenance manuals (AMM, ESM, PPBU, CMM), illustrated parts catalog, and engine shop manuals.
- Proficient with current software packages, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and other similar repair shop repair and tracking systems.
- Able to communicate effectively, both orally and written.
- Able to lift or pull objects weighing as much as 30 pounds frequently.
- Agility to stand, lie, or kneel in awkward positions or in confined spaces and to perform work from scaffolds or ladders.
- Manual dexterity is required to operate tools to adjust and repair.
- Sufficient visual acuity to inspect equipment for defects.
