Essential Functions
- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance;
- Attends and occasionally leads pre-construction meetings;
- Observes and documents complex sewer, force main, pump station, and treatment plant installations for residential and Capital Improvement Program projects;
- Observes and documents sanitary sewer testing including, but not limited to, air and hydrostatic tests to detect leakage, pipe deflection testing, soil compaction testing, and concrete testing;
- Performs plan and record drawing review;
- Performs inspections in basements of buildings under construction for practices that are detrimental to the County’s system;
- Investigates illegal sewer connections and reports to Sanitary Engineer or designated staff;
- Matches construction plans with cut sheets;
- Inspects mainline sewer, laterals, force mains, and air release valves;
- Led crews to perform final inspections of construction projects;
- Survey and inspect existing infrastructure;
- Performs confined space entries into sanitary structures for measurement and inspection;
- Measures manholes and wyes for horizontal locations and elevations;
- Locates and marks DCRSD sewers and force mains as required by prospective land users, contractors and OUPS;
- Affords assistance in investigating various complaints from residents and companies;
- Prepares permits drawn with clear and concise details for sewer taps of new homes and commercial buildings;
- Interprets blueprints and discusses deviation from specification and ensures compliance with County regulations;
- Attends various training sessions, video conferences, and workshops.
Job Standards
- A high school diploma or equivalent and four (4) years related work experience required combined with the demonstrated ability to lead personnel.
- Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
- Must meet and maintain qualifications for driving on County business at all times, including insurability.
- Must obtain and maintain NAASCO PACP/MACP/LACP certification within (1) one year of employment.
